IN A RACE AGAINST TIME, HOW DO YOU KEEP
THOSE YOU LOVE SAFE?
Jenny Kramer knows she isn’t normal. After all, not
everybody can see the past lives of people around them. When she befriends Ben
Daulton, resident new boy, the pair stumbles on an old music box with
instructions for “mesmerization” and discover they may have more in common than
they thought.
Like a past life.
Using the instructions in the music box, Ben and Jenny share a dream that transports them to Romanov Russia and leads them to believe they have been there together before. But they weren’t alone. Nikolai, the mysterious young man Jenny has been seeing in her own dreams was there, too. When Nikolai appears next door, Jenny is forced to acknowledge that he has traveled through time and space to find her. Doing so means he has defied the laws of time, and the Order, an ominous organization tasked with keeping people in the correct time, is determined to send him back. While Ben, Jenny and Nikolai race against the clock -- and the Order -- the trio discovers a link that joins them in life -- and beyond death.

I thought this book is some kind
of a horror based story, coz the first parts seems like creepy. I kept reacting
on the different scenes, and it gives me an uncomfortable feeling. I’m not a
fan of horror when it comes to reading I like watching it more. Lucky I found
out it’s not a horror based but still it’s a bit creepy, it is more mysterious
and exciting book. The story is straightforward you won’t get lost while
reading it despite the twists and turns it’s exciting. The first time I saw the
book cover I was fascinated. I love it! It catches my attention right away.
Jenny is a mysterious girl, her
mom died when she was six leaving her and her dad alone. She has an explainable
power that she keeps only to herself. She doesn’t want anybody to know that
even her dad. She tried to live like a normal person yet she doesn’t have much
friends and her only best friend is Tiffany. Jenny met Ben when she visited
their house because of Jenny’s dad project, as an architect he’s the one
assigned to do everything in the house. When she and Ben found a music box and
tried the one written on a piece of paper, an explainable thing happened. They
fall asleep and shared a dream, in her dream there was also another man named
Nikolai and in her dream she was named Maria and Ben as Sergei, from then on
everything change. The more they seek for the truth about their lives the
weirder it gets. She met Nikolai in person, and she found out the truth about
him, about her mom and her life. But there is a risk, Nikolai should go back
from where he came from or else he can’t see Jenny again.
I am not satisfied to the ending
why? Because I want to read more! I’m not convinced that Nikolai left like that
and so on. It’s like I’m still looking for more story but then I saw THE END
there, and I was like “what?” I wanna read more of it but I have to wait for
the next installment of the book and that makes me sad. I wanna know more about
Jenny, Ben, Tiffany and Nikolai. Their world is full of mysteries. But I
honestly like the book. It’s just that I wanna read more of it. I have so many
questions that left unanswered.
Thank you Month9Books and MaryAnn
of Chapter by Chapter for this! I had a great time reading the book, there will
be a next installment right? It should not end here. I’m craving for more. LOL.
Thank you!
