Blog Anniversary Year Five (5) and Christmas Giveaway

Hey ALL!

It's been another busy months and days for me so I am posting my Blog Anniversary giveaway late. Well, just a quick background, I started this blog five years ago. I was inspired by another local blogger named Kate and she encouraged me to try and do blogging. So, without much confidence and trust on myself that I could do it, I still try and challenge myself every single time that I will write something to post here. I am still afraid that what if nobody visits my blog? or what if nobody really cares and reads my content? I guess those thoughts would never end but, I do thank all of my readers who constantly visit this site. I also thank those publishers and authors who trusts me to promote their books and to review the upcoming books.

Now, in my fifth (5th) year anniversary, I would love to have another book giveaway as a way of thank you to every visitors either local or international. This giveaway will run starting from December 10 to December 31. Check the mechanics below;

Blog Anniversary 2013 (Day 8)

I love giveaways!

Hello! another giveaway for today!!! I believe some of you didn't know my featured author for today, but then her books are good and I read two of her books, and I'm looking forward to reading the two other books, if you want a proof I have reviews! Here take a look Broken Faith and Uniquely Unwelcome.

An Interview with Brandy Nacole

1. Tell us something about your life as a writer.
Paper and pens are a must!  No matter where I am or what I'm doing, I always make sure I have a way to jot down an idea that could strike.  Here lately my iPhone has become my personal assistant..lol.  But a writer never knows when an idea for that next pivotal plot moment will strike or when something will spark some ideas.  My Spiritual Discord Series started from two roadsigns at the beginning of a 1,200 mile road trip.  Always be prepared for the unexpected!  Inspiration can happen anytime and be geared by the strangest of objects.

2. What's the first book you've read?
Thinking back, the first books I can really remember being interested in where the Goosebump books by R.L. Stine.

3. What do you want in life other than being a writer?
An editor.  I know still in the same career ball park, but it's my passion.  I'm actually in the process of enrolling to get my Master's degree.  Talk about something scary!

4. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Honestly... Time.  I never once had writer's block or grew frustrated.  And since I enjoy the proof reading and editing, time is always my enemy.  But isn't that everyone's?

5. What are you working on at the minute?
I just finished up the second book in my Spiritual Discord Series, Faithfully Hunted.  I plan on relaxing a bit for the next few weeks with my family, but I'm also reading over a story I wrote almost 8 years ago called The Lights.  This has become my fixer-up project.

6. Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?

7. What are your thoughts on writing a book series.
I love book series.  They keep the characters alive and readers enraptured.  And I think we get to see and begin to understand so much more about characters when they are slowly introduced and develop over the span of several books.  Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great stand alone books out there!  I guess I just don't like saying goodbye to characters I like so quickly.  I have attachment issues.

8. What is the most demeaning thing said about you as a writer?
Being told to give it up.  That's not happening.  Each writer has their own style and not everyone will be on board with their work.  That's okay.   Our different styles of writing is what makes us unique.  We're like a fingerprints.  And just like fingerprints that grow and expand from birth to adulthood, I'm still growing and expanding in my craft.  I'm not going to cut myself off halfway just because of a flaw someone may see in me.  I'll heed their advice, learn from it, and move on.  I won't be raising any white flags anytime soon.

9. How do you react to a bad review of one of your books?
I listen to what the reader has to say.  If a writer doesn't listen, then we can't grow.  But on the same note, I'm also wary and usually overlook reviews that are full of negativity but never giving a reason why.  Some people will just be trolls because they have nothing better to do.

10. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Many thanks and hugs for all your support and encouragement.  This last year has been amazing and I am looking forward to the many more to come.  Readers rock!!

Brandy Nacole resides in Arkansas where her imagination runs wild. Her obsession is reading but her passion is writing. She put her dream of becoming a writer on the back burner and went to college to become a psychologist. Three years after endless classes in a field she only felt half satisfied with, Brandy picked up her pen once again and wrote the outline to Uniquely Unwelcome. She finished out her degree in psychology, but traded her dream of writing for the degree and put psychology on the back burner.

Whenever she’s not reading or writing, Brandy is spending time with her family and friends, throwing around crazy ideas, teaching , and singing like a rock star at a concert for no one else but herself. She loves plants, but unfortunately is a killer of anything that requires water but can’t voice (scream) their needs.

She is the author of The Shadow World Series and The Spiritual Discord Series

Blog Anniversary 2013 (Day 4)

Honestly, I'm having a hard time to think of a topic on what to post everyday, so instead I come up to interviewing the authors, who I worked with and helped me in this blog anniversary bash! I want other readers to know who are these authors, and it's fun to get to know them I feel closer (even if they're oceans away from me).

And for today, I want to thank Jack Chaucer author of Streaks of Blue for answering my questions. By the way if you haven't read his book, better try it now. It's good! Looking for a review? It's HERE

An Interview with Jack Chaucer
1. Tell us something about your life as a writer.
I've written four novels, the latest of which is "Streaks of Blue," which is meant to inspire people to help prevent the next Newtown, the next Columbine.
2. What's the first book you've read?
A couple of books I read as a kid that I really remember are "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain and "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

3. What do you want in life other than being a writer?
Well, mostly I'm trying to be a good husband to my wife and father to my 2-year-old twins. That's the most important thing.

4. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part was tackling such a dark subject and trying to keep the tone right because it had to be treated with such sensitivity.

5. What are you working on at the minute?
Nothing. I'm about to be promoted at my real job -- newspaper editor -- so my time will be very limited going forward. My novel career is going on hiatus for a while.

6. Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
That's a great question. I'm really not sure who should play Nikki. Do you have any suggestions? I'd be intrigued to see who you come up with.

7. What are your thoughts on writing a book series.
I would like to write a trilogy. That's my next goal as a novelist, but I'm not sure when that will happen.

8. What is the most demeaning thing said about you as a writer?
"Streaks of Blue" has gotten a few nasty reviews, mostly from people who didn't finish the book. I'm not surprised. It's not an easy subject to read about, but most of the readers who have stuck with it seem to get the hopeful message and think the ending is amazing.

9. How do you react to a bad review of one of your books?
Bad reviews come with the territory. I learn from some of them, but I do think there are certain reviewers out there who churn through book after book and don't come into the next one with an open mind. They compare this to that, or they expect this and that, and they miss out on half the story or message. I applaud reviewers who may struggle with part of the book, but they keep reading and are pleasantly surprised or emotionally affected in a positive way by the end.

10. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
I want to say thank you to all of my readers and they should know that my heart is in the right place with "Streaks of Blue." It's not meant to exploit a tragedy. It's meant to prevent the next one. I have kids. I decided to try to write something meaningful before my kid or someone else's kid becomes the next victim of school violence in this dangerous world. Will it make a difference? It already has based on some of the great responses I've received. And that's the message of "Streaks of Blue" -- one person can make a difference. I'm doing it by writing an inspiring novel. Nikki did it in the story by getting involved and reaching out to a kid who was going down a very bad path. She is a brave hero. And this world needs more of them.

About the Book
https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1377400937l/18372527.jpg
Adam Upton and Thomas "Lee" Harvey are plotting the next big school massacre at their New Hampshire high school. Nicole Janicek, who knew Adam in elementary school, tries to reconnect with the damaged teen at the start of their senior year. But will Nicole’s attempt to befriend the would-be killer disrupt the plot and turn Adam’s life around before the clock strikes 12:14?

* wait * Before I proceed to the giveaway I wanna answer Jack Chaucer's number six, I can suggest Emma Watson or Lily Collins. They're great.
