Blog Anniversary 2013 (Day 8)

I love giveaways!

Hello! another giveaway for today!!! I believe some of you didn't know my featured author for today, but then her books are good and I read two of her books, and I'm looking forward to reading the two other books, if you want a proof I have reviews! Here take a look Broken Faith and Uniquely Unwelcome.

An Interview with Brandy Nacole

1. Tell us something about your life as a writer.
Paper and pens are a must!  No matter where I am or what I'm doing, I always make sure I have a way to jot down an idea that could strike.  Here lately my iPhone has become my personal assistant..lol.  But a writer never knows when an idea for that next pivotal plot moment will strike or when something will spark some ideas.  My Spiritual Discord Series started from two roadsigns at the beginning of a 1,200 mile road trip.  Always be prepared for the unexpected!  Inspiration can happen anytime and be geared by the strangest of objects.

2. What's the first book you've read?
Thinking back, the first books I can really remember being interested in where the Goosebump books by R.L. Stine.

3. What do you want in life other than being a writer?
An editor.  I know still in the same career ball park, but it's my passion.  I'm actually in the process of enrolling to get my Master's degree.  Talk about something scary!

4. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Honestly... Time.  I never once had writer's block or grew frustrated.  And since I enjoy the proof reading and editing, time is always my enemy.  But isn't that everyone's?

5. What are you working on at the minute?
I just finished up the second book in my Spiritual Discord Series, Faithfully Hunted.  I plan on relaxing a bit for the next few weeks with my family, but I'm also reading over a story I wrote almost 8 years ago called The Lights.  This has become my fixer-up project.

6. Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?

7. What are your thoughts on writing a book series.
I love book series.  They keep the characters alive and readers enraptured.  And I think we get to see and begin to understand so much more about characters when they are slowly introduced and develop over the span of several books.  Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great stand alone books out there!  I guess I just don't like saying goodbye to characters I like so quickly.  I have attachment issues.

8. What is the most demeaning thing said about you as a writer?
Being told to give it up.  That's not happening.  Each writer has their own style and not everyone will be on board with their work.  That's okay.   Our different styles of writing is what makes us unique.  We're like a fingerprints.  And just like fingerprints that grow and expand from birth to adulthood, I'm still growing and expanding in my craft.  I'm not going to cut myself off halfway just because of a flaw someone may see in me.  I'll heed their advice, learn from it, and move on.  I won't be raising any white flags anytime soon.

9. How do you react to a bad review of one of your books?
I listen to what the reader has to say.  If a writer doesn't listen, then we can't grow.  But on the same note, I'm also wary and usually overlook reviews that are full of negativity but never giving a reason why.  Some people will just be trolls because they have nothing better to do.

10. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Many thanks and hugs for all your support and encouragement.  This last year has been amazing and I am looking forward to the many more to come.  Readers rock!!

Brandy Nacole resides in Arkansas where her imagination runs wild. Her obsession is reading but her passion is writing. She put her dream of becoming a writer on the back burner and went to college to become a psychologist. Three years after endless classes in a field she only felt half satisfied with, Brandy picked up her pen once again and wrote the outline to Uniquely Unwelcome. She finished out her degree in psychology, but traded her dream of writing for the degree and put psychology on the back burner.

Whenever she’s not reading or writing, Brandy is spending time with her family and friends, throwing around crazy ideas, teaching , and singing like a rock star at a concert for no one else but herself. She loves plants, but unfortunately is a killer of anything that requires water but can’t voice (scream) their needs.

She is the author of The Shadow World Series and The Spiritual Discord Series
