the cold.

Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

I am fascinated by the cover of this book, I like it, simple but catchy even the prints inside it's BLUE! I love it. They really put an effort for this book. I was thinking, what's special about this book? Wolves. It looks interesting and the first thing that comes to mind is Jacob Black from Twilight. Shape-lifter, handsome guy. Werewolves. I'm honestly having a hard time to review this book.  I don't know what to say. Well the story is simple and it revolves around winter and the story between Grace and Sam. I have to say both are really an inspiration.

Grace and Sam's love story is not new to me, but I adore them. Loving each other even if they are two  different species. Well the other is a wolf and the other is human. I've read fantasy books but here what's catchy is how patience they with each other. It's like a long distance love you know? I like how Grace defend her wolves. Her belief is so strong and her love for Sam is unexplainable. Sam on the other hand is a cool guy, no matter how he knows their situation he still doesn't give up. He still secretly in love with Grace. The way they meet is not-so-good but then it is such a heroic scene. Saving Sam.

I want to see Sam's songs. I wanted to hear his full lyrics and his voice. His lyrics is so cute and it is really sweet. I know that feeling when a guy make a song for you. It's really overwhelming. The story is nice, and their love story is one of a kind.

I think I'll read the next book soon. I'm curious what will happen to Sam and Grace. Great book by the way!

My Ratings

New York Times bestselling author of The Shiver Trilogy, The Raven Cycle, and The Scorpio Races. Artist. Driver of things with wheels. Avid reader.

All of Maggie Stiefvater's life decisions have been based around her inability to be gainfully employed. Talking to yourself, staring into space, and coming to work in your pajamas are frowned upon when you're a waitress, calligraphy instructor, or technical editor (all of which she's tried), but are highly prized traits in novelists and artists. She's made her living as one or the other since she was 22. She now lives an eccentric life in the middle of nowhere, Virginia with her charmingly straight-laced husband, two kids, two neurotic dogs, and a 1973 Camaro named Loki.
